The tuna cord provides a secure hold for your self locating snap and is easier on your hands when pulling your gear to the boat. The Scotty Snubber absorbs shock, provides electrical insulation and helps prevent snags (models 377 & 378). Tubing has been added to provide protection against abrasion in high wear areas.

These are incredibly comfortable. I bought them for work, and as someone who works in IT, I'm on my feet a lot, and often crouching down or leaning in awkward positions, and these have been awesome for me. I've never felt they were uncomfortable.
