As can be seen here the fluted areas are heavily padded to give a distinctive look. Generally the paddings underneath are reusable even if they are 50 years old! I have five stars even if the best was a little short. I have a tall boy and the rest is totally worth the money. Fit was as marked aside from vest which is higher on the chest than necessary.
