The glass pieces are kiln fired, and properly annealed for strength and durability. The glass slides into the Stainless steel garden stake. The lower pointed spikes screw into the top to create the full stake that is then planted.

This is a great comforter. I have purchased others that were way too bulky. This one is perfect. It is lightweight and seems ideal for warmer temperatures. I am not too hot in the middle of the night. We are heading into Summer but I am sure this will be fine for Summer heat or for Air Conditioners.
